John Famiano, Owner & Artistic Director:

John has been a renowned Choreographer, and a Dance & Gymnastics instructor for over 30 years.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health and Exercise Science, from Rowan University.  He began his Dance & Gymnastics training at a local Dance & Gymnastics studio in Cape May, New Jersey where he has studied all forms of Dance & Gymnastics.  From there, he continued his Dance & Gymnastics training in College where he was a member of C.O.D.A, a Modern Dance Company, and was also a member of the Rowan University Dance Team.

While in College, John has taught and performed with many Dance Companies across the United States, and was a company member of the Atlantic Contemporary Ballet Theater now known as the Atlantic City Ballet where John has performed many roles in the "Nutcracker."  John has taken numerous master classes in New York, California, and also Abroad.  He started teaching Dance & Gymnastics at a local Recreation Center in Lower Township.  From there, he formed a well established competitive Performing Arts Competition Team called the Lower Township Tumblers.  The Lower Township Tumblers performed all over the United States in Parades, Nursing Homes, and in Regional and National Dance Competitions.

In 2000 John decided it was time to grow and expand due to the lack of space and time the Recreation Center had to offer, so he decided to open up Cape May County Performing Arts Academy, his own Dance & Gymnastics Studio in Rio Grande, New Jersey.

John is mostly well-known for his Contortion work, Gymnastics instruction, and his Acro/Lyrical Dance pieces.  John has received many Jr. & Sr. Choreography Awards from many Performing Arts Competitions along with winning many Top Overall High Score Awards for soloist, and his group performances.  His students have won many Titles at Regional & National Performing Arts Competitions including Petite Miss Acrobat of the United States, Jr. Miss Acrobat of the United States, Miss Dance USA, and many others.

Many of his students are professional Dancers, Gymnasts, Divers and Cheerleaders in Nationally Ranked Universities, and have also gone on to purse careers as professional Dancers & Gymnasts.

John is a proud supporter of the Dance Community, along with being a former sponsor for the Philadelphia SoulMates Dance Team.
